- UI/UX Design

The Vision

Behind the obvious goals of creating a modern and sophisticated look and feel, with an intuitive user-friendly interface, I wanted to build an app that creates a deep emotional connection with its users, an honest human app.

Visual Design

The app design strives to be efficient and confident, I opted for clear, readable typography, choosing high contrast colors for better legibility. The interface is uncluttered, clean, large and well-spaced, inspired by to-do lists and time management tools.

In order to create the desired effect, two main design elements are used,

a yellow underline highlights the main information, and crossing lines mark the completed tasks, so the user feels motivated to keep going forward.

Map View

Visitour is designed to support people on the go. in order to minimize learning, users can depend on their prior experience with existing maps app conventions to help them quickly learn how to use the app.

By tapping on the map's markers, users can view the relevant information card.

As these cards contain a lot of details and information, I designed them to be clear and readable, by using wide spaces, a clear text hierarchy, and informative icons.

Home Screen - Plan Your Tour

The main screen is designed to allow users quick access to the primary functions of the application. The size of the icons makes tapping easier, and the content hierarchy easies the user to scan and recognize his interests. Behind the main card, I added shadowed cards to indicate that there are additional cards available to view.

Inspiration & Design Research

The visual language is inspired by elements from to-do lists, time and task management tools, Gantt planning systems, and urban road signage.

Color Palette

Urban yellow is the main color chosen for the app.
This is a bold and commanding color. It resembles a highlighter pen as well as a road marker, representing energy and speed, while balancing the clean and relaxed feel of the solid black and white palette.

Reviews and tips

Logo & Brand Name

I chose a name that combines two related keywords: "Visit" and "Tour".

This combination sounds like the word "visitor", which implies an entity that has only limited time and comes just for a quick glance.

The bold yellow underline serves as a visual cue for a tourist bus, while also representing the process of time and task management. The letter V is styled as a checkmark sign, also inspired by the task management content world.

Logo Sketches

A variety of lettering combinations and versions, yellow touches, and the V shape, all in different styles and details.

Iconography

I created a unique set of icons, based on the app design principles, to enrich the design system and convey feelings of fun and friendliness.
